I have to take a moment to specifically thank this amazing cast and crew for all of the hard work that they have put in to make this show happen. We also owe a huge shoutout to Chad, Clayton, Angela, and Rehab Bar and their staff. Without their incredible support, this show literally couldn’t happen. And an extra thank you to Chris, Rusty, and Evan for coming in and making everything we’ve done look and sound a thousand times better. 

When making theater, it takes a community. I can’t even begin to list all the colleagues and friends that have helped us make everything you are experiencing tonight a reality. When we first thought about doing a musical at Rehab as part of Midweek Microdose, it was a lofty goal that we thought we were just “bouncing around.” Pretty soon, Moxie had texted Zac saying “What if we did Trailer Park?” and our fate was cemented. This is an incredible show that we are both familiar with, and it has the exact type of comedy that we believe the Rehab crowd and the theater-loving crowd will both enjoy. 

While this is what I consider one of the funniest pieces of musical theater, I want to highlight what I believe is the show’s core theme: community and chosen family. As RuPaul said, “we as gay people, we get to choose our family,” and that couldn’t be more true for this tight-knit trailer park community. Through all the ups and downs, across decades of time, this community stays intact and always finds a way to work things out. I hope you all can see your community and chosen family reflected in this show.

To our Midweek Microdose family, 

First off, thank you immensely for joining us for this insane production of The Great American Trailer Park Musical. This experience is a dream come true. 

When I entered into the world of drag back in 2020, I feared I was stepping away from musical theatre forever. It wasn’t until I started producing that I realized that you never have to walk away from something you love. In fact, you can create art, infuse different styles, and tell stories any way you want to. There is something so special about the theatricality of Midweek Microdose – our weekly variety show – here at my home, Rehab. Every week we enter this space to delve into a unique world of storytelling and fun through so many different mediums. It’s the highlight of my life. I truly mean that.

Zachary and I have been producing small scale cabarets, creative projects, and even full musicals together for the last 7 years. We realized earlier this year that we have the passion, the drive, the creativity, and the platform to put on a musical OUR way. Why not invest back into the stage and venue we love so much? Why not create a show that highlights not only the incredible professional musical talent we have here in St. Louis, but also one that infuses that Moxie energy into it! Let’s find a show that brings Drag and Musical Theatre together! Well if there’s one thing about us you will learn is if we have an idea, we do everything we can to execute. And here we are! A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to make this show possible. Our community support is genuinely what made this vision a reality. Plus – a HUGE thank you to Chad, Clayton, Rusty, Evan, Chris, the cast, Jenna, Jayla, Cat, Calexus, and the Rehab family for being so gracious in supporting this venture.

Now, we take you to Armadillo Acres! Our story centers around your typical highschool sweethearts, Jeannie and Norbert. When trouble calls, the chaos ensues… and who better to facilitate the chaos than our drag inspired muses! A world of change is in store for these two lovers, but nothing a good old trailer park pandemonium can’t fix… hopefully!
